As a night shift manager in Lima, Peru, Reem Taoz has gained experience in areas of event organization and wholesale liquor sales. In addition to his interests in Peru’s burgeoning nightlife industry, Reem Taoz enjoys watching Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal.
Since amateur and professional tennis players began competing at the same major tournaments in 1968, no player has won more major titles at a single event than Rafael Nadal’s nine French Open trophies. Nadal contested his first French Open as an 18 year old in 2005. Turning 19 on the day he defeated Roger Federer in the semifinals, he went on to defeat Mariano Puerta to capture his first French Open championship. Nadal would go on to defeat rival Roger Federer in three consecutive French Open finals, bringing his tally to four and his event record to 28-0.
In 2009, Nadal suffered his first loss in Paris, a four set defeat at the hands of Robin Soderling. Undeterred, the Spaniard bested his own record by recapturing the title in 2010, this time vanquishing Soderling, before adding four more championships between 2011 and 2014. In his most recent grand slam victory at Roland Garros, Nadal eliminated Serbia’s Novak Djokovic in four sets. Between 2005 and 2014, Nadal accumulated a match record at the event of 66-1.
